Faith Baptist Church - Longmont CO

Our History

“For we walk by faith, not by sight” is the principle from God’s Word upon which Faith Baptist Church was founded.

On February 21, 1962, Pastor Roland Andrews sought to establish an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church in Longmont. The first meeting was officially organized with Pastor Andrews serving as the churches first pastor.

Not long after Pastor Andrews departure in 1965, Dennis Walton became the senior pastor and steady growth soon overtaxed the Coffman Street facilities. On November 8, 1970, the congregation moved to a newly-constructed auditorium and educational wing at 833 15th Avenue. Additional building programs followed and in the fall of 1971, the educational ministry of Faith Baptist School began. Faith Baptist School now comprises all grades from Kindergarten enrichment through high school and is an integral part of the growing ministry of Faith Baptist Church.

From March, 1978 until 1997, Dr. Marion Fast served as senior pastor at Faith. Under his ministry the Lord blessed Faith Baptist with a new multi-purpose gym as well as a new bus garage. In 1987, Rick Cross was hired as youth pastor and in 1998 was unanimously voted as senior pastor. In November 2013, Pastor Cross accepted a position with Front Line Missions in Taylors, SC.

On September 2014, Faith Baptist appointed Torrey Jaspers as its new pastor. Torrey and Jalene and their two children have a long history of service in the ministry.
